Methods: This bachelor's thesis was completed on the basis of continuous professional practice in MediCentrum Praha under the guidance of Mgr. Andrea Slukova. The practical part was taken there between 29.1. - 19.2.2021. An initial kinesiological analysis was prepared, a short-term and long-term plan was determined and a final kinesiological analysis was written to evaluate effect of the therapy. The patient completed nine therapeutic units over the period of three weeks, each lasting 30 minutes. Examination and therapeutic methods within the scope of bachelor's studies were applied in the case study. Results: The therapy which the patient undertook had a positive effect proven by the final kinesiological analysis confirming improvement of her health. The most significant changes were achieved within the range of motion in the shoulder joint into flexion and abduction followed by significant reduction in pain. Key words: case study,...
Early rehabilitation in comparison with the traditional approach after arthroscopic surgery of the rotator cuff - literature search.
Reiterová, Anna ; Šorfová, Monika (advisor) ; Malá, Jitka (referee)
Author: Anna Reiterová Title: Early rehabilitation in comparison with the traditional approach after arthroscopic surgery of the rotator cuff - literature research Aim: To process a literature search concerning the reconstruction of the rotator cuff with regard to early physiotherapy, its safety and effectiveness. To map the approach to the issue from the point of view of surgeons in the form of a non-standardized questionnaire survey. To compile a systematic review of studies comparing early and delayed physiotherapy in the form of passive movements. Backgroung: The primary goals in the postoperative period after rotator cuff repair are to minimize pain, protect the repaired muscle and tendon, and finally restore shoulder function. At a time when the gold standard was open access, surgeons recommended an early passive range of motion after repairing the rotator cuff in an effort to reduce the likelihood of the formation of adhesions leading to stiffness of the operated arm. Although early passive movement may minimize the chance of a stiff arm, it may not be optimal for the early stages of rotator cuff healing. Metoda: thesis is processed in the form of literary research. Literary sources of the work were searched in the databases PubMed, MEDLINE, PEDro, Web of Science, EBSCOhost and Scopus. The...

Physiotherapy for patients with rotator cuff lesion
PLÍHAL, Lukáš
I chose "Physiotherapy for Patients with Rotator Cuff Lesion" as a topic of the theses. This topic was chosen because I was interested in indispensable function of rotator cuff to stability and total shoulder joint functionality. Moreover, it is relatively often disorder of shoulder joint and that is why I wanted to complete my knowledge in this area. In the theoretical part I am focusing on the proper function of shoulder joint altogether. Following chapters in this part are explaining kinesiology of shoulder joint, clinical units of rotator cuff lesion and subsequent options of physiotherapy. In the practical part I am dealing with the quality research, where I look into the sample of three patients. Two of these patients were affected by rupture of rotator cuff, which was treated by operation, the last patient suffered from impingement syndrome. At the beginning the patient was physically examined. This was followed by eight therapies which were mainly focused on improving movement and muscle strength in shoulder joint. Patients affected by rupture were examined after six months after the surgery. The patient with impingement syndrome was examined after two weeks after the last therapy. According to results it is significant that there was improvement in movement and muscle strength in shoulder joint for all of the patients. The theses can be used by professional public, physiotherapists, possibly by students of physiotherapy for getting basic knowledge about rotator cuff, its pathology or possible physiotherapy procedures.
